Following its founding in 1996 by Max Reindl, WaveLight quickly established itself as a groundbreaking producer of laser based ophthalmological treatment and diagnosis systems. In October 2003 WaveLight became the first European manufacturer to receive approval from the US health authority, the FDA, for the sale of its excimer laser ALLEGRETTO WAVE in the USA.
