Advanced Safety: Active Cyclotorsion Control

Finding the eye‘s correct treatment position and avoiding displacements caused by cyclotorsion is one of the most important factors in obtaining an excellent refractive outcome especially in high astigmatic corrections.

The advanced NeuroTrack feature ensures active optokinetic eye-tracking to control cyclotorsion. NeuroTrack forces the eye to stabilize the retinal image to achieve perfect vertical and horizontal orientation. Coupled with the equilibrium sense, the vestibular ocular reflex automatically rotates the eye back to compensate for possible head rotation.

The Eye-Q´s integrated cross line projector provides the surgeon with an exact alignment of the head´s and eye´s position (cyclorotational pre-alignment). The target diode which generates a red light cross on the patient´s face shows the right position in horizontal and vertical direction coordination with the manual marks.

Correct height alignment is reached with the two precise distance laser diodes (z-alignment).

With the WaveLight systems you can also treat difficult cases or patients with a high cyclotorsion value and still produce excellent results.
